Practice Consulting

Build a practice that runs the way you actually want to practice.

One-on-one consulting for psychiatric clinicians launching, scaling, or repairing a private practice — built on a decade of clinical work plus the operational side of running an outpatient psychiatric and therapy practice. The focus is small, the work is concrete, and every engagement is shaped around the practice you're trying to build.

Billing & coding Credentialing Practice launch Marketing & positioning

"Most clinicians don't need another course. They need someone to help them make the next three decisions correctly — and then the next three after that."

TheraPsych consulting engagements are deliberately small and direct. Most run between four and twelve sessions, with a defined deliverable at the end. Some are a single document review. Some are a multi-month practice launch. Every engagement starts with a 30-minute discovery call so the work is scoped honestly before anyone commits.

Credentialing to Collections

Our flagship implementation engagement for behavioral-health practices. PMHNP-built, adaptable across disciplines. We work inside your practice to enroll providers, fix the coding, rewrite the documentation, install the denial workflow, and stand up an audit-ready revenue cycle — from credentialing through paid claim.

Where consulting helps

Four focus areas

Engagements typically center on one of these, but most practices need a blend. We scope the work after the discovery call.

Billing & Coding

The mechanics of getting paid correctly for the work you do — especially the integrated psychiatric-and-therapy work most coders never see.

  • E&M code selection for psychiatric visits
  • 90833/90836/90838 add-on coding for in-visit psychotherapy
  • Documentation standards that support your codes
  • Denial pattern review and appeal workflow
  • Clean-claim rate audit on representative encounters

Credentialing

The infrastructure work that determines whether a practice can actually accept the patients it intends to serve.

  • NPI, DEA, CAQH, and board-certification verification
  • Insurance panel selection and application strategy
  • Malpractice carrier comparison and coverage review
  • Collaborative-practice agreements where required
  • Re-credentialing calendar and document hygiene

Practice Launch

The end-to-end work of opening a private psychiatric or therapy practice — from entity formation through your first ten patients.

  • Entity formation, EIN, and basic legal scaffolding
  • EHR/scheduling selection and configuration
  • Intake, consent, and clinical documentation templates
  • Cash-pay vs. insurance modeling for your first year
  • Operational checklist through the first month of patients

Marketing & Positioning

The clarity work that decides whether the right patients can find you — and whether they say yes when they do.

  • Clinical niche clarification and positioning statement
  • Website audit and copy review for psychiatric audiences
  • Referral relationships with PCPs, therapists, and schools
  • Directory profiles (Psychology Today, Headway, Alma, etc.)
  • Ethical content strategy for clinician-led education
How we work together

Four engagement options

Transparent starting rates. Final pricing reflects scope and timeline, confirmed after the discovery call.

The process

How a consulting engagement runs

01

30-minute discovery call · $100

A short, focused conversation about what you're trying to build, where you're stuck, and whether consulting is the right tool. The $100 fee is credited toward any service booked within 72 hours. If consulting isn't the right fit, we'll point you toward what is.

02

Written scope

If we move forward, you receive a one-page scope document defining the engagement, the deliverables, the timeline, and the fee. Nothing starts until you've signed it.

03

Working sessions

Recurring 60-minute video sessions on a published cadence. Each session has an agenda, an outcome, and follow-up actions captured in a shared workspace.

04

Final deliverable

Every engagement ends with something you can keep — a launch checklist, an audit memo, a billing-and-coding playbook, a positioning statement, a credentialing calendar.

Who consulting is — and isn't — for

Be honest about the fit

A strong fit
  • Licensed clinicians (PMHNP, LCSW, LPC, LMHC) opening or operating a private practice
  • FNPs adding psychiatry to a primary care practice
  • Group practice owners refining billing, paneling, or growth strategy
  • Clinicians who have already done some of the homework and want a thinking partner
Not the right fit
  • Clinical supervision — that's a separate, formal arrangement with a different scope
  • Legal advice, tax advice, or accounting (refer to licensed professionals)
  • Medical-malpractice defense or risk-management litigation support
  • Anyone hoping consulting will substitute for clinical training or licensure
Start with a discovery call

Tell us where you're stuck — we'll tell you whether we can help.

Every consulting engagement starts with a 30-minute discovery call ($100, credited toward any service booked within 72 hours). If it's a match, we'll send a scope document within two business days. If it isn't, we'll point you toward someone who can.
